October is always filled with reminders of how breast cancer impacts the lives of so many women and their familes every day. There are endless ways you can help support the fight against breast cancer. One way that beaders support the cause is by participating in Jeanette Shanigan's annual Beaded Quilt Project.Last year, a group of Albuquerque area beaders contributed almost 40 squares to this project. The project generated $2,125 for breast cancer research at the auction at the Bead and Button show in Milwaukee. This year, we have a new theme ("Turtles") and we're looking for beaders who would like to participate. I'll be supplying beads, needles/thread, peltex backing and the release forms...but if you have your own beads, turtle buttons/charms or anything you'd like to donate to the cause, please bring them along!
Below are the dates/times that I'll be hosting the beading sessions at The Wooden Cow Gallery and Art Space in Albuquerque (7400 Montgomery Blvd NE Suite 20). Seating is limited, so be sure to sign up for your session(s). Hope to see you there.

HOpe the quilt project raises even more money this year. Nice job. And as this is NBCAM, thought I’d pass along an easy way to help raise awareness: check out these 30 sec breast cancer related videos -- http://www.ahamoment.com/pg/voting?moment=pmbbmea -- and click to vote for one or all. The top vote getters in the contest will be aha moment TV commercials next year. And more media exposure for the cause would be a very good thing.
Thx,
